There are few things more frustrating than an e-cig or vape that won’t charge. When you want to enjoy a vape session and your device isn’t powering up, it is very inconvenient. But don’t panic, In most cases, a vape pen that seems like it isn't charging correctly is actually completely fixable because there's usually nothing wrong with the device or the battery. Sometimes, a vape pen that isn't charging is overdue for replacement. Usually, though, all that you need is a better understanding of the problem. So let’s troubleshoot the issue.

Troubleshooting A Vape that Won’t Charge

  1. Understand Your Vape Pen's Indicator Light

The 1st step is to understand what the device's indicator light is trying to tell you. A vape pen's indicator light can work in several ways when the device charges (i.e. turning different colors, pulsing lights, etc). You should double-check the manual to see what the light is telling you, your device could be working just fine.

  1. Check if Your Vape is Working

In almost all cases, a vape pen's light will be on while the device charges. Therefore, if you connect your vape to a power source and it doesn't light up, that probably means the vape isn't currently charging. This could mean the battery is fully charged already. Try using the device –  does it work? If the device isn’t working, proceed to the next step.

  1. Double Check the Battery/Cartridge attachment

E-Cigs have a battery that needs to securely be screwed into the cartridge. Try unscrewing the cartridge, wiping off the contacts on the battery and cart, and then screwing the cartridge back on securely. If this doesn’t work, move to the next step…

  1. Clean the Charging Port and Cable and try to recharge the device again

If your vape still isn’t powering up, try this:

Your vape pen can't charge if the charging cable doesn't make a solid electrical connection with the device. If you carry your vape pen in your pocket, the charging port could be contaminated with pocket lint. Try wiping off the contacts on the recharging cable and the battery,

  1. Replace the charging cable/brick

If wiping off the contacts on the charging accessoires doesn’t work you may need to replace the charger, power brick, or both.

  1.   Replace the E-Cig battery

If you’ve replaced the charging accessories and tried all the steps above and your e-cig still isn’t powering on, unfortunately, it looks like you may have to replace the device.
